Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house that has a combined gross home income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up click here to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All website students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
